Dr. Wright has been awarded the prestigious Distinguished Primatologist Award from the American Society of Primatologists.
In February 2008 Hurricane Ivan struck in Madagascar causing extensive casualties and damage. The bridge to Ranomafana National Park was washed away and there were several land slides in the area.
Ranomafana National Park has been declared part of a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) world heritage site cluster. Conservation International has issued a press release about this unique honor.
