This Zonosaurus is most often seen basking in the sun down by the river (and the Pont Aureus is perhaps the best place to look).
Snout-vent (body excluding tail): <7cm. (Glaw, 1994)
It can be distinguished from Z. ornatus in that Z. aeneus lacks the colorful ornamentation on the back (it also tends to be smaller).
